The profit of China's printing industry fell by 0.6% year-on-year from Jan. to Sept. 2021

On October 27, the National Bureau of Statistics of China announced the profits of industrial enterprises above designated size across the country from January to September 2021. The data shows that the total profits of industrial enterprises above designated size in the country were 6,344.08 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 44.7%, an increase of 41.2% over the first nine months of 2019, and an average increase of 18.8% in two years.
From January to September 2021, the industrial added value of the "printing and recording media reproduction industry" increased by 13.6% year-on-year, which was higher than the average level of 11.8% for all industries. However, judging from the growth rate in September, the growth rate of the industrial added value of the printing industry was 3.1%, a drop of 6.5 percentage points from the previous month, which was the lowest value in each month of this year.
From January to September 2021, enterprises above designated size in China's printing industry will realize operating income, a year-on-year increase of 12.7%. During the same period, all enterprises above industrial scale achieved operating income, a year-on-year increase of 22.2%. The production and sales of the printing industry continued to recover compared with the same period last year, but the growth rate was lower than the national industrial average.
From January to September 2021, the total profit realized by enterprises above designated size in the printing industry decreased by 0.6% year-on-year, entering a negative growth range.
